frequently-asked-questions

Q: What is the best way to visit, tour, or get more information about one of your homes?

A: When perusing Search our Homes, click the following icon ‘X’ to schedule a showing or request more information about that home. Alternatively, you may visit Schedule a Showing to inquire about one or more homes.

Q: What happens when I decide which home I like?

A: The process is simple. For a complete explanation, please visit Putting a Contract on Your Home.

Q: What happens if I currently live out of State? Can I still build a home from scratch and customize it to my tastes?

A: We actually have a system that was created with customers like yourself in mind; we call it DreamViewer. For additional assurance, please visit The Quality of Our Homes to learn more about our proprietary Quality Control System and licensed third-party inspections. Regarding all the front end selections, the vast majority could be made online (or via email) if you simply were not able to schedule a single visit to the market in which your home is being constructed.

Q: Do I need to have a real estate agent?

A: While we welcome real estate agents, it is not necessary that you have one. Our staff is trained to serve your needs and answer your questions through the Contract, Customization, Closing, and Warranty stages. A single point of contact typically streamlines and simplifies the process.

Q: How much is the down payment or monthly payment on any particular home and who will lend me the rest?

A: Typically, answers to this question may vary greatly and it is best to consult your banker or a mortgage loan origination or loan broker. You can contact Mollenhour Mortgage Brokerage or your local bank for more information.

Q: Will I be abandoned after the closing and what kind of post-closing services can I expect from Mollenhour Homes?

A: No you will not be abandoned after we ‘get your money.’ For further information, please visit the HomeCare Guide, Warranty Services, and our actual home Warranty.

Q: What else do I need to know or think about just prior to closing?

A: While our Customer Service Representative will be guiding you every step of the way, please also visit our Moving Checklist and don’t forget to change over your utilities and other services using Important Links.

Q: What if I need to sell my current home first?

A: There are many scenarios and solutions available to solve this ‘problem.’ The Mollenhour Homes Customer Service Representative will assist you or refer you to another professional who can help you navigate through this process.

Q: If I want to purchase a pre-sale, is there a simple way for me to determine the cost of any particular floor plan?

A: Unfortunately, there is not a simple equation that covers the myriad of options available. A number of factors, that include but are not limited to the following, contribute significantly to the cost variations that exist in new construction: lot price and topography, floor plan design features (cathedral ceilings, metal roofing, cover porches, extra attic space, etc), number of stories in a home (i.e. ranchers are typically more expensive than two story homes on a per sqft basis), living space, trim out features (cabinets, flooring, fixtures, etc), and exterior materials (brick, siding, stone, etc).
